Our sauce is homemade and nothing beats that.
We put a lot of time, effort and care in making it a unique blend, always making sure the distinctive flavour of the currywurst sauce comes through unequivocally.
Katja, born and raised around the Berlin area, has tried many different combinations until achieving the perfect one. In fact, initially she went back to Germany and asked family and friends for their own recipes in order for her to try and see which one would work best.
After many trials and errors (let me repeat that: MANY trials and errors), she finally was satisfied with a currywurst sauce that came from a beloved friend.
We used that sauce throughout many events but one day Katja said she was improving the recipe. "Not again!" I thought - it had already taken her a long time to get this one 'right'.
But she was determined and I know that look, believe me. There's no stopping her; so off she went to create yet a new currywurst sauce recipe.
More mixes, more time stirring the so needed liquid and eventually she called me to say "this is the one! this one is definitely the one!
She even sent me a picture with the result of the currywurst she had at home. Have a look at the picture below.
Yep. All gone. She totally loved it.
And so this is the recipe we have been using up until now.
But with Katja you never know... she might try to improve it again at some point... which is always a good thing in my opinion 🙂
